PSI Offers a Rapid Readout Biological Indicator is a dual readout biological indicator system designed for quick and accurate verification of sterilization efficacy in steam or ethylene oxide (EO) or Plasma sterilization processes.

Features:

• Dual Readout System: Combines fluorescence-based rapid readout with a conventional color change readout for redundancy and reliability.
• Rapid Detection: When used with the Rapid Readout Incubator, it can provide results in as little as: .
o 20 Min, 30 Min, 1 hour, 3 hours for steam sterilization.
o 4 hours or more for EO sterilization.
• Reliable Monitoring: Detects the presence of viable Geobacillus stearothermophilus (steam) or Bacillus atrophaeus (EO) spores, which are standard biological indicators used to test sterilization efficacy.
• Clear Visual Indicators: Colour change and fluorescence indicate whether sterilization conditions were sufficient to inactivate the test organisms.

ETO Usage Instructions:

1. Placement: Position the SCBI in areas considered most inaccessible to the sterilizing agent, such as the center of the load.
2. Sterilization: Subject the SCBI to the ethylene oxide sterilization process as per standard operating procedures.
3. Post-Sterilization: After the sterilization cycle, remove the SCBI and allow it to cool to room temperature.
4. Activation: Crush the glass ampoule inside the SCBI to release the growth medium.
5. Incubation: Place the SCBI in an incubator at 37°C±2°C for a maximum of 4 hours.
6. Result Interpretation:
o Negative Result: No fluorescence indicates successful sterilization.
o Positive Result: Fluorescence indicates the presence of viable spores, suggesting a failure in the sterilization process.

Steam Usage Instructions:
