Description
The Offers PSI Knee O Drape (and similar knee O drapes) is a sterile surgical accessory placed around the patient’s knee before orthopedic or knee–related procedures. It creates a clean, sterile barrier that protects both the patient and surgical team by preventing environmental contaminants, microbes, and fluids from entering the surgical field.
These drapes often feature a specially cut “O” aperture centered over the knee to provide unobstructed access to the operative site while maintaining sterility on all sides. The material typically has good fluid resistance and barrier properties to keep the field dry and reduce infection risk.
Key Features
Sterile & Disposable – Each drape is pre‑sterilized and intended for single use to minimise cross‑infection risks. Quick to apply in surgical settings without needing on‑site sterilization.
Targeted Protection – Designed with a central opening (“O”‑shaped fenestration) that exposes the knee joint while keeping surrounding areas covered and sterile, allowing surgeons focused access.
Fluid‑Resistant Material – Made from medical‑grade non‑woven/SSMMS or SMS fabric that resists fluid penetration, helping contain blood, saline, and other liquids during procedures.
Durable yet Lightweight – Strong enough to stay in place throughout the surgery yet lightweight and easy to handle.
Various Sizes & Configurations – Available in unilateral (single knee) or bilateral versions (both legs) and different dimensions to suit surgeon preference and procedure type.
Uses
Knee O Drapes are primarily used in orthopaedic and surgical settings, including:
Knee Replacement Surgery – Used during total or partial knee arthroplasty to maintain sterility and manage fluids.
Arthroscopic Knee Procedures – Ideal for arthroscopy and minimally invasive knee surgeries where precise field isolation is crucial.
Ligament & Meniscus Repairs – Used for ACL, PCL, or meniscus repair procedures that require a clean, focused operative area.
Orthopaedic Trauma & Reconstruction – Applied in trauma cases or reconstructive procedures around the knee to ensure infection control and sterile access.
General Knee Surgery – Useful in any knee surgery, including biopsies, synovectomy, and other surgical interventions where surgical sterility is essential.
